Since our inception, The Jay Odom Group has gained a reputation as being the preferred real estate development firm in Northwest Florida. Just a few of our major milestones include:
- Secured over $200M in loans for property purchase and development
- Developed more than 2,200 residential lots with over $100M in infrastructure and amenities
- Purchased over 1,000,000 square feet of commercial property, to include construction and renovation, exceeding $100M
The Jay Odom Group was founded in 1987 and today consists of Crystal Beach Development, Hammock Bay, The Emily Odom Institute, JG Plaza, Draper J and more than 20 subsidiary companies.

With donations totaling well over $1M, The Jay Odom Group embraces a simple philosophy: regenerate communities while making a difference, especially towards youth and educational issues. This is why charities and programs such as Adopt a Classroom, Take Stock in Children, Education Foundations and countless other school and children’s programs have been, and will continue to be, supported by The Jay Odom Group for many years.
Other contributions include:
- Donated 60 acres of land to the City of Freeport in a cooperative effort with Walton County and Hammock Bay to build a state-of-the-art, world-class $20M Regional Sports Complex within Hammock Bay
- Donated 30 acres within Hammock Bay’s Town Center to the Walton County School District for an elementary/middle school
- As a tribute to first responders, the armed forces and all those uniformed service members, The Jay Odom Group erected the tallest flagpole in the State of Florida. The flag is 60″x 90″, and the pole stands at 172′ tall in the Uptown District of Fort Walton Beach, Florida
- Donated 500 linear feet on Choctawhatchee Bay, in the heart of the City of Destin, to expand the City’s Parks & Recreation for its citizens and visitors
- In the Crystal Beach area of Destin, donated numerous beach accesses to the City of Destin for public beach access to the Gulf of Mexico
